Chic and sophisticated, the connoisseur of vintage and the little black dress really cannot go long before a Norman Norell lands in her closet. His dresses are cut masterfully and beautifully with every line and seam placed exactly where it should be. This particular dress is a classic and I love it. It is a sleeveless wool crepe with the skirt set into the waist with soft gathers so it has just a touch of volume. There is actually quite a bit of fabric in the skirt and I love that it has hidden pockets along the side seams. I also love the little label that tells you which way is the front. Don't be fooled by it's simplicity - it is seamed and constructed to couture levels and the finishes within it are superb. A classic that will last you a lifetime and then still be relevant! Excellent, appears unworn condition.
Fully lined in a fine grade black silk that is hand set. It closes with two side zippers, one inner one that closes the bodice and then another that sits from the waist down. There are hook & eye that then cover the lower zipper. The shoulder on that same side closes with hook & eye. It looks like the bodice was taken out about an inch on either side. It was well done and could be taken back in if needed.
